I was reading Matthew 14 this week about Peter wanting to walk on water with Jesus, but then he saw the wind, became afraid and started to sink. Then Jesus caught him and said why did you doubt? It made me think of how we want to follow Jesus. We are willing to get out of the boat and trust Him to enable us to walk on water. But then the further we get away from the boat and the more waves and wind that hit us, we start to doubt, and look at our own abilities, not those of God, and we start to sink. But praise the Lord, He is there to reach out and take our hand, and to reassure us and to get rid of our doubt. He will never leave us or forsake us!
"Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus." Philippians 1:6
